Sweepstakes By-Law

Article 6:

 

Each member organization may hold as many sweepstakes shows as desired.

Sweepstakes series shall run from Jan 1st to December 31st of each year.

Sweepstakes points will be figured in accordance with the official rules of the American Rabbit Breeders Assoc. Inc., except it shall not be necessary to enter any specific number of rabbits or cavies to qualify for sweepstake points.

Each and every entry in the regular Senior, 6-8months, and Junior, classes of rabbits and cavies, of all recognized breeds, and all fryer pens, will be eligible for points.

 

Member organization holding a sweepstakes show MUST give prominent notice of same in all show advertising, and in their official premium list.  They shall remit ten (.10) cents on each entry received in regular Senior, 6-8, Junior classes of rabbits and cavies, and each fryer pen to the Secretary/Treasurer for the Show Circuit

 

Sweepstakes awards shall be made on each breed of rabbit and cavy recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Assoc .Inc.  The value of each award will be in direct proportion to the number of entries shown in each breed, and in addition there will be an award to include all breeds combined.

 

The sweepstakes points at one breed specialty show shall not apply to the all breed awards: however, they may be counted toward the awards for the special breed shown.

 

The scale of awards shall be as follows:

Ten percent of the money available in all breeds of rabbits and cavies shall be for the all breed award.

 

The entire proceeds from the sweepstakes receipts will be awarded after deducting compensation of the Sec/Treas., with the exception of ($10.00) to be left in the bank as continuation for the following year.  Proceeds from other fund raising activities will be expended as awards or as special awards at the grand final show.  There is to be a Show Circuit show(s) held at such time and place deemed appropriate every year, in order to raise money for Show Circuit expenses.  No award is to be paid when the amt. is less than $1.00.

To be eligible for awards, an exhibitor must: be a member in good standing of a member organization at the time the award is made, and must have shown at three (3) New England Show Circuit Sweepstakes shows.

Sweepstake points will be valid from the date of membership in the member club.  Member secretaries must notify the Show Circuit Sec. with an updated membership list which includes the joining dates of new members.

 

All member clubs of the New England Show Circuit shall submit written request for show dates to the Show Circuit Sec. on or before January 1st.  The requested dates shall be for a year hence.  (in 2004 you would be applying for 2005 show dates.)  All requests must be cleared with the Show Circuit Sec. BEFORE the club sends for its sanctions.

 

Those clubs which fail to apply for their date by Jan. 31st shall forfeit their date(s).  Said date(s) shall be declared open for reassignment to all member clubs.  If application of membership is not received by Jan. 15th, the secretary shall contact the president, the state director of the member club and the president of the member club as to the possible forfeiture of date(s).
